Lake District Drives are open!

Lake District Drives are open! Well sort of. After too many weeks being completely closed to visitors the Lake District is slowly beginning to open up again. Of course there is a long way to go until we get anywhere near ‘normal’ and many attractions and businesses remain closed for a few more weeks at least. However, there is nothing to stop you undertaking one of our fabulous Lake District Drives whilst enjoying the scenery and some of the more open attractions along the way.

Many outdoor attractions such as parks, lakeshore access and picnic sites are at least partly open now and many of these are included in Lake District Drives.  It is definitely advisable to check attraction websites to confirm if and when they are open plus any other conditions on visiting. Toilet facilities may also still be closed which may be an important consideration when planning your trip. Food and drink can be obtained from some local shops or takeaways although you might struggle to get a substantial meal made for you.  The best advice for now is probably to bring a picnic and enjoy some of the fabulous scenery away from the honeypot sites where it’s easier to find some isolation. Please stay alert and respect the locals.
